Real Sociedad B drew 0-0 with Burgos at Anoeta in a match that featured two very distinct halves. The first half saw few clear chances, though the Txuri-Urdin reserve side was well positioned. In the second half, both teams had opportunities to score, but neither could find the net. Jon Ansotegi analyzed the encounter against the Castile and León side.
“We played a good game. We started the second half well and had good chances, even though they also had two headers from crosses. We turned the game around well. The substitutions worked well, and maybe we lacked cutting inside from the wing earlier and taking advantage of one-on-one situations. We’ll analyze it, but there were good and bad things. In the second half, both sides probably had more chances, but there were no goals—one more point.”
Scoring goals has become difficult. “There are times when goals almost fall into the net and it seems easy to score, and other times when you have to do a lot to get a goal. We’ve already shown we have goals in us, and the attacking players have proven that. Our job now is to analyze Huesca, see where we can trouble them, and look at those situations. I’m very calm about our attackers.”
The relegation zone is six points away. Is a point enough? “Everything counts, one more point. I’m not happy because we prepared the match to get all three. We thought this was a great opportunity to win and move further away from relegation, especially since the teams below us didn’t win this weekend. We played well and didn’t win, but we got zero points last week, and that’s worse. A point isn’t bad either, but we’re not happy because we wanted the three points.”
The team’s survival is in its own hands. “It depends on us to do what we did today. Today we did what needed to be done; it didn’t give us the win because we didn’t score, but this is what we have to do. We’ll win, draw, or lose, but my message to the players won’t be that we have to win, but that we have to do what we did today, and the points will surely come.”
There was a change in goal, with Fraga returning. Other players also came back.
Real Sociedad B 0-0 Burgos CF – A draw at Anoeta that doesn’t clarify the outlook. Real Sociedad B vs Burgos – A draw of necessity.
“We now have four goalkeepers training with us. Any of them has the level to play here; I’m calm about that, it doesn’t give me a headache. It’s clear that the more players we have, the more weapons we have, and I can choose from more people. Sometimes I’ll choose well, sometimes badly, but it’s an advantage.”
