Como manager Cesc Fàbregas has not ruled out the possibility of one day taking charge at Real Madrid. During an interview with Cadena COPE, the Catalan coach stated he has no “red lines” regarding future coaching opportunities, though he made it clear that his immediate priority is to continue developing as a head coach.

When asked directly whether coaching Real Madrid would be off-limits due to his Barcelona past, Fàbregas explained: “No, I think the red line—and this I have been very clear about from the start—is that I would not want to be an assistant, for example. One thing I have clear is that I want to be a head coach.”

The former midfielder admitted he has not yet thought about future scenarios, as his full focus is on the project he currently leads in Italy. “I haven’t thought about it, I haven’t evaluated it, and I haven’t had time for anything else,” he added.

Fàbregas also discussed his present role at Como, where he is both coach and a shareholder. He revealed that his move to Como was far more than just a place to end his playing career. “I saw a project, I saw an opportunity not only to finish playing football but to begin doing what I was already starting to love more than playing—coaching,” he said.

The coach emphasized his comfort in the Italian club’s environment. “I am very calm because I am in a place that is helping me grow in ways I surely would not have found elsewhere,” he noted. He also highlighted the freedom he enjoys within Como’s project: “I can do it my way, the way I want.” He described the experience as a constant learning process: “This is like going to university every day.”
